We are a group of people united by a shared belief that rugby should be fun and accessible to everyone.

As of September 2019, we are an official member of USA Rugby’s Capital Rugby Union and compete in the women’s division 3.

Many of our players join without any prior rugby experience, and we encourage you to give rugby a try if you are new to the sport. Our players collectively played at every level of USA Club rugby, from Division III to the Women’s Premier League, as well as many levels of USA College rugby. Our dedication to building the rugby community and determination to make rugby fun for everyone binds us, and we hope to continue building the rugby community by providing a place where all rugby players are welcome.

The DC Revolution Rugby Club is a not-for-profit organization. We are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Find more information on how to make a tax-deductible donation to the DC Revolution.

Like rugby, we’ve grown fast.

The DC Revolution played its inaugural 15s season with a series of friendly matches in Fall 2019 but had to postpone its planned initial matrix match season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We finally played our first matrix match season in Fall 2021-Spring 2022, finishing the year with only one true win and an official record of 3-5, counting forfeits. Our second season, 2022-2023, we finished the season with a winning record and completed the year by upsetting the team that represented our division at the Atlantic Super Regional, giving them their only loss of the year. In the 2023-2024 season, we finished as the second team in our division and made it to playoffs for the first time. In the 2024-2025 season, we were the undefeated Capital Rugby Union Champions and advanced to the Atlantic Super Regional. We won the D3 semi-final match and advanced to the D3 championship before losing to Portland. We look forward to doing even better in the 2026-2027 season and aim to continue to grow ourselves, our team, our community, and our sport.

About the Club:

The DC Revolution is a rugby club based in Washington, DC founded in 2019, led by a shared belief that rugby should be fun and accessible to everyone. We are a member of USA Rugby’s Capital Rugby Union and compete in the Women’s Division III in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

We aim to develop players, both new and experienced, to their potential as well as develop coaches so that we can build a stronger rugby community in the DC area. This club is founded on values of inclusion, community, trust, and transparency with an overarching belief that rugby is and should be fun! We are seeking a head coach who will embrace these values alongside our team. 


Job Description:

We are seeking a head coach for the 2026-2027 15s rugby season to lead the club. This position is a good fit for you if you feel strongly that rugby should be inclusive, are excited about growing the sport of rugby, love training players from a variety of backgrounds, and think rugby should be fun! If you are newer to coaching and looking for your first head coach position, please consider applying! We hope to provide a learning opportunity for both developing coaches as well as players. This is a paid position.

Our expectations:

  • Help foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for players from all backgrounds

  • Have a Level 200 certification from USA Rugby

  • Plan, attend, and lead practice on a twice weekly basis for the club (Tuesdays & Thursdays 7pm-9pm in the DC area )

  • Attend and coach all 15s matrix matches for the fall (September-early November) and spring (March-early May) seasons

  • Teach the players at all levels of skill and experience about the rules and regulations of the sport of rugby

  • Collaborate with the Executive Board leadership and captains to assess team growth and address any concerns from players

  • Work with the Executive Board leadership and captains to adjust the existing playbook to align with coaching strategy

  • Coordinate goals and strategies with captains and assistant coach to ensure that our team values, such as inclusion and accessibility, are playing out in our practices and matches
